Olivia Dean scores an eighth week at #1 in Australia with her track Man I Need.
Man I Need is not the longest continual run at #1 for a Solo Female Artist since Sabrina Carpenter's Taste scored an eight-week run from September 2nd, 2024, after which Rosé achieved 14 broken weeks at #1 with APT. feat. Bruno Mars (he just dropped new material on Friday with the song I Just Might, still keeping with his look from his Lady Gaga duet, while his new LP The Romantic is due on February 27th), but they weren't continual (two four-week runs and two three-week stays), with the last UK Solo Female singer to hold for this long was a nine-week-overall stay (2 weeks, then seven weeks) for the Kate Bush return of Running Up That Hill (from June 13th, 2022).
It's also a fifth overall week at the top of both charts for Olivia Dean, as her album scores a sixth accumulated week at #1, while she also achieves this feat in New Zealand, with the song scoring a 14th week and the album it's 11th week (their second longest running #1 of all time now), with Man sitting overseas at #2 in The Netherlands, #7 in England and Germany, #9 in Ireland, and rebounds to its former peak of #4 in both The U.S.A. and Canada (now that their Xmas stock has departed their charts). Man I Need is now the longest running #1 this decade for Capitol Records, equal-third longest running for the label (of all time), with their last eight-week stay being for Youngblood by 5 Seconds of Summer (May 2018).
Olivia also has seven Top 50 entries this week (all but one rise or remain stable), with three within the Top 10 itself, as she remains a non-mover at #7 with So Easy (to Fall in Love) (NZ #2) and her only declining entry this week is Nice to Each Other down one spot to #10. And unlike last week's seven non-movers within the Top 10, this week there are only four, with the others near the top, with The Fate of Ophelia for Taylor Swift at #2 for an eighth week (#1 in Germany {10th week} and The Netherlands [9th week], regaining the #1 slot in The U.S.A. [9th week] and Canada {11th week}). This is followed by a thirteenth straight week at #3 for the KPop Demon Hunters act HUNTR/X and Golden, while both Taylor's and the KPop soundtrack swap places on the albums chart this week, thus they don't match exactly within the Top 3 this week (after four weeks of all three matching).
After regaining a Top 100 entry last week with his breakout track, Djo and his song End of Beginning jumps up this week ten places to land at #4, one spot off its original #3 peak (four straight weeks from March 18th, 2024), giving the song an eighth overall week within the Top 10, while the song also zooms overseas, becoming the new #1 single in England this week, along with Ireland (9 to #3), Germany (14 to #3), The Netherlands (47 to #4), #1 on the New Zealand and Australian catalogue singles charts, and re-entering in The U.S.A. (#16, HP-11) and Canada (#13, HP-9). And with the soundtrack to Stranger Things Season 5 due for a physical release at the end of January (digital came out January 1st), with further songs from the soundtrack currently within the On Replay Singles chart; Every Breath You Take for The Police (#8 hold, #17 UK, #13 Ireland, Germany #15, Dutch #13, NZ #11cat), Landslide for Fleetwood Mac (41 to #16, #20 UK, #11 Ireland, Dutch #94, #16cat), Purple Rain for Prince (#21 debut, also #12 in England and Ireland, #61 Germany, Dutch #33), and Running Up That Hill (49 to #30, #14 UK, #19 Ireland, Germany 54 to #24, Dutch #52) for Kate Bush.
Reclaiming it's #5 peak for a second time (8th of December was the other) is the RAYE track WHERE IS MY HUSBAND?, which rises one spot this week (#1 Hip Hop/R&B Single), as Alex Warren is pushed down two places to #6 with Ordinary (it was at #4 for the past five weeks, and has racked up seven overall weeks at #4 over the last nine weeks). Falling three places to land at #8 is the #1 Dance Single for Disco Lines with Tinashe and No Broke Boys, with sombr's 12 to 12 the final Top 10 entry this week, dipping one spot to #9...
TOP 20: ...while sombr also has two songs within the Top 20, starting with last week's returned-Top 10 entry back to friends (HP-3x3, WI10-20) down one spot to #11, while he also rises two places to #19 with his breakout song Undressed, while his album also regains a Top 10 placement this week too. The only other rising entry here goes to Olivia Dean with A Couple Minutes, up three spots to #16 (HP-13), while two songs remain stable here, Love Me Not for Ravyn Lenae at #15 and DAISIES for Justin Bieber at #17, which also cracks 26-weeks/half-a-year charted.
With the Djo jump into the Top 10 this week, single-place-declines are seen by I Run for HVN, Opalite for Taylor Swift and Beautiful Things by Benson Boone to #12, #13 and #14 respectively, while falling four places to #20 is the Shaboozey track A Bar Song (Tipsy).
TOP 30: Two songs jump up eight places each, Olivia's Baby Steps runs to #25 (HP-20) and the EsDeeKid track Phantom, which RE-PEAKS at #28 (his ebb-and-flow continues), with the three other rising entries here being Victory Lap for Fred Again (up one to #24), THE DAYS - NOTION Remix for Chrystal (up four to #27) and I Had Some Help for Post Malone and Morgan Wallen (up two to #29).
Gracie Abrams' That's So True is the only on-hold entry here, stable ast #23, while dropping down are BIRDS OF A FEATHER for Billie Eilish (down one to #21), CHANEL for Tyla (drops four to #22, her self-titled LP cracks the Top 50 this week for the first time at #48) Rosé and Bruno Mars with APT. (also down four, to #26) and finally the first of two six-place falls for Sabrina Carpenter songs, as Manchild withdraws to #30...
TOP 40: ...while her Espresso is her other six-place drop, down to #33 this week. Olivia Dean's two entries here remain stable and back-to-back this week, with Let Alone the One You Love is at #39, while her duet with Sam Fender and Rein Me in is right after it, not-moving from #40.
With KATSEYE scoring a Top 50 debut with their third (overall) entry this week, their former #27 peaking song (WI-27 too) Gabriela is up three places to #31, while also rising here are Messy for Lola Young (up three to #32) and Sports Car for Tate McRae (up eight to #36), while she also has the equal-largest decline within the Top 50, as down ten places to #38 is TIT FOR TAT. EsDeeKid is only down two spots to #34 with Phantom, while slightly bigger declines are seen by Die With a Smile for Lady Gaga and Bruno (down eight to #37) and Soda Pop for Saja Boys (falls nine to #35), while...
TOP 50: ...the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack sees its third and final Top 50 entry this week being What it Sounds Like for HUNTR/X, which drops six places to #48. After six weeks of charting within the Top 100 the second entry for U.S. country singer Ella Langley finally cracks the Top 50, as her track Choosin' Texas scoots up fourteen places to land at a NEW PEAK of #46 (76-82-65-55-60-46), while the song is also charting in The U.S.A. (#5), Canada (#10) and debuts in England (#78). Ella's only other Top 100 entry was you look like you love me with Riley Green (HP-67, July 29th, 2024).
Olivia Dean peak-holds at the top and bottom of the Top 50 this week, as her Man I Need track hold it's #1 peak for an eighth week, she also rises back up two places to RE-PEAK at #50 with I've Seen it, her seventh and final Top 50 entry this week. The only other rising entry here is the third Top 50 placement for Tate McRae and Just Keep Watching, which is back up five places to #44.
The two on-hold entries here are Good Luck, Babe! for Chappel Roan at #41 and Sailor Song by Gigi Perez at #43, while wedged in-between those two is a four-place drop to #42 for Kehlani's Folded track, with Benson Boone dipping one spot to #49 with Mystical Magical and the equal-biggest fall within the Top 50 sees Dracula for Tame Impala (#1 Australian Artist Single) down ten places to #47.
NEW ENTRIES: * #18 - Raindance - Dave feat. Tems (Neighbourhood Records) becomes the seventh Top 100 (four as lead, three as guest) and fourth Top 50 & Top 30 entry for the UK rapper, with this new track featuring Nigerian singer Tems. The song peaked at #3 in England last week (TW #4), #6 in Ireland (TW #7), jumps in Germany (15 to #8), The Netherlands (14 to #9), New Zealand (25 to #17) and returns in Canada at #73 (HP-70). The track, taken from his latest album The Boy Who Played the Harp (HP #7), samples four songs within its structure, From Time by Drake (2013), Lean wit it, Rock wit it for Dem Franchize Boyz (2005), You by Lloyd and Lil' Wayne (2006) and Shimmy Shimmy Ya for Ol' Dirty Bastard (1995)
* #45 - Internet Girl - KATSEYE (HYBE x Geffen) becomes the third Top 100 and now second Top 50 entry for the international-member reality-constructed six-piece-girl-group, following on from their former #27 peaking track Gabriela (TW #31), along with former #76 song Gnarly (peaked Oct. 6th, 2025), while the girls also have their first release Touch floating around too (yet to crack the Top 100). The song also entered overseas in England (#24), New Zealand (#34), Ireland (#37) and The Netherlands (#72) so far. Last edited:
Olivia Dean retains the #1 spot on the Albums chart for a sixth overall week with her second album The Art of Loving.
By scoring a sixth week as the #1 album in Australia, The Art of Loving (No.2 Vinyl) becomes the third longest running chart-topping album for Capitol Records, while the LP is joined at the top of the singles chart by her track Man I Need, giving the pair a fifth overall week as the dual #1's locally, while the same feat has been duplicated in New Zealand (for a new record breaking ninth week, surpassing the 1976 ABBA duopolies), while Olivia's Loving set is again the #1 in England (4th overall week) and The Netherlands (third overall week), returns to the top in Ireland (7th week), along with Germany (#6) and re-peaks at #4 in both The U.S.A. (LW #14) and Canada (LW #21).
The Kid LAROI dropped his second album on Friday, so that could be a threat to Olivia's reign on the Albums chart, so for now let us revel in the Dean at #1 by showing the comparison for this decade of the runs at #1 (these are not overall totals, just the continual stay at #1), with Olivia equal fourth at her current five-week stay...
1989 (TsV) - Taylor Swift (11 weeks from Nov. 6th, 2023) 30 - Adele (7 weeks from Nov. 29th, 2021) SOUR - Olivia Rodrigo (6 weeks from May 31st, 2021) Midnights - Taylor Swift (6 weeks on it's second run from Dec. 19th, 2022) The Life of a Showgirl - Taylor Swift (6 weeks from Oct. 13th, 2025) Midnights - Taylor Swift (5 weeks on it's initial run from Oct. 31st, 2022) The Art of Loving - Olivia Dean (5 weeks from Dec. 15th, 2025)
For the past four weeks we've seen the Top 3 on both charts matching, that gets reduced back to just the #1 set this week, as the other two entries swap places this week, with the film soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters up one to #2, swapping with The Life of a Showgirl for Taylor Swift down one to its lowest chart chart position ever (here) of #3 (No.5 Vinyl), while the album holds the top spot in Germany (third week), The U.S.A. and regains it's #1 spot in Canada (both for a twelfth week). The set also saw its lowest ever chart placings in England, New Zealand (#4) and Ireland (#9), while it's steady at #2 in The Netherlands.
Sabrina Carpenter had been sitting back-to-back with herself for the past two weeks, but this week there's a slight separation happening, as Man's Best Friend holds at #4 for a third straight week (No.10 Vinyl), while her older entry Short N' Sweet dips one spot to land at #6, with it swapping places with Tate McRae's SO CLOSE TO WHAT???, up one to #5.
Three albums return to the Top 10 this week, with Alex Warren up four places to #7 with You'll Be Alright, Kid, sombr with I Barely Know Her jumps six places to #8 and returning to the ten for the first time since September 22nd is Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem, which is up four places to land at #9 (#1 Country Album), with the set rebounding to #2 in The U.S.A. and Canada this past week. The third and final declining set within the Top 10 is a one-spot dip to #10 for the Billie Eilish title HIT ME HARD & SOFT (No.8 Vinyl).
TOP 20: The first of five NEW PEAKS within the Top 50 this week sees the multi-ARIA Award winning Ninajirachi and her set I Love My Computer leap twenty-four places to land at #12 (former peak was #18 upon entry August 18th, 2025), thanks in part to the set scoring the No.1 Vinyl position this week, as well as the #1 Australian Artists Album spot too.
Fred Again.. regain a Top 100 berth with his USB set at #14, with the just-over-one-and-a-half year old set having spent the past six weeks within the On Replay Albums chart where it peaked at #3 on December 22nd (thanks a No.11 Vinyl entry), while it sits at #6 on that chart for it's seventh overall stay. Two albums rise here and one is stable, that being eternal sunshine for Ariana Grande at #19, with small climbs seen by MAYHEM for Lady Gaga (up one to #15) and Play for Ed Sheeran (up two to #18, his Australasian tour starts on January 16th in Auckland, NZ and then he begins a five week tour of Australia on January 31st).
The three Top 10 dropouts all land within the Top 20 this week, with Taylor Swift down four to #11 with The Tortured Poets Department (No.9 Vinyl, HP-1x8, WI10-34), CHROMAKOPIA for Tyler, the Creator (HP-1x2, WI10-9, No.4 Vinyl, #1 Hip Hop/R&B Album) dropping six places to #16 and Wish You Were Here 50 for Pink Floyd (HP-1x4 in 1975, WI10AMR-19, WI10ARIA-3, 22 in total) which plummets twelve places to #20 (No.6 Vinyl). The two smaller drops here are for Gracie Arbams' The Secret of Us (dips one to #13) and BRAT for Charli XCX (down two to #17), who sees her music for the soundtrack album to Wuthering Heights issued on February 13th, the same day the remake of the film opens.
TOP 30: The top and tail of this chart section has two NEW PEAKS, with the ROLE MODEL set Kansas Anymore jumping up ten places to land at #21 (former peak #27 on November 17th, 2025), while the new UK #1 single holder and leaping to #4 locally is for Joe Keery's nom-de-plume Djo, whose third album The Crux rebounds back into the Top 50, landing at #30 (former peak #31 upon entry April 14th, 2025), whilst climbing forty-seven places from last week's re-entry position of #77 (BTW the current single is not on this album, it's featured on his second album Decide).
The two further rising albums in this section both climb five places apiece, Sex Hysteria for Jessie Murph and hickey for Royel Otis to #22 and #24 respectively. Three albums decline two places each, all of them sitting back-to-back; Even in Arcadia for Sleep Token, Addison by Addison Rae and GNX by Kendrick Lamar to #25, #26 and #27 respectively, with bigger drops seen by the Wicked: For Good soundtrack (down six to #23, No.20 Vinyl), Stray Kids' KARMA is down seven to #28 and tumbling eleven to #29 is Tame Impala's Deadbeat set.
TOP 40: Five albums rise here, two of them with double-digits; Love Balloon for Ocean Alley (up thirteen to #31) and Beautiful Broken for Jelly Roll (rebounds fourteen to #38), while Calvin Harris' best of set 96 Months jumps up nine spots to land at #36. Lily Allen's West End Girl is back up seven places to #40 and lastly the Post Malone set F-1 Trillion is up two spots to #32.
Justin Biebers' SWAG I + II is the fourth and final non-mover within the Top 50 this week, stable at #33, plus it also cracks 26 weeks charted (half-a-year), while dropping down are Sam Fender with People Watching (down eight to #34), last week's new entry for $uicideboy$ with THY WILL BE DONE (down three to #35), Hurry Up Tomorrow by The Weeknd (drops back down seven to #37) and finally a one-place dip to #39 for the PartyNextDoor and Drake $$$4U set.
TOP 50: The final two NEW PEAKS within the Top 50 are located here, with the Sam Barber set Restless Mind jumping up twenty places to land at #41 (former peak #47 on May 5th, 2025), while the 22-week-old entry for the self-titled TYLA by Tyla moves up nine places to land a new chart height of #48 (last week it climbed to a NEW PEAK of #57), thanks in part to her current Top 30 singles chart entry CHANEL (TW #22).
Four more albums climb up from the lower fifty this week, the biggest of which is a thirty-four place rise to #42 for The Hard Way by Cameron Whitcomb (HP #38 on week five, Nov. 3rd, 2025), then JENNIE rises eight places to #45 with Ruby (last within the Top 50 on Sept. 1st). The Zach Bryan set The Great American Bar Scene jumps a quarter of the Top 100 by rising twenty-five spots to land at #46 (last within the T50 on Sept. 23rd, 2024), while the Bad Bunny set DeBi TiRAR MaS FOToS jumps up fifteen spots to land at #49 (last here in the fifty on Oct. 13th, 2025).
The two Aussie acts here see Spacey Jane rise two to #44 with If That Makes Sense, while the 5 Seconds of Summer latest release EVERYONE'S A STAR falls fifteen places to #43, with Clairo's Charm set waning ten places to #50, while the final decline here sees Lorde's Virgin drop five spots to #47.
New Albums coming this week from: * The Kid LAROI * Vince Gill * Alter Bridge * Zach Bryan * Beyond the Black * The Cribs * Dry Cleaning * The Protomen * Petra * Hamnet soundtrack.
"End Of Beginning" climbs to #1 on the On Replay singles chart (chart run: 50-x(10)-13-9-15-50-3-1). (It climbs to #4 on the regular singles chart, but is no longer on the New Music chart.) "Landslide" scores a big climb from its previous peak of #41 to now #16, seemingly due to being featured in "Stranger Things"; it makes 4 Fleetwood Mac songs currently in the top 20. Prince's "Purple Rain" debuts at #21; "Stranger Things" also appears to be the reason for it, and it's quite an uncommon song to see in the Spotify charts - it had never made the weekly Spotify top 200 in any country previously (note that his music wasn't on Spotify at the time of his death in 2016). (If the 10-year rule is to mean anything, it joins "Lush Life" in unlucky timing as it last charted 9.7 years ago.) "Running Up That Hill" also climbs to #30. Taylor Swift has had little presence on this chart, with "Cruel Summer" being her only multi-week charter and it having dropped out the week after her album came out; it now returns. "Don't Stop Believin'" must have been particularly New Year's Eve-centric, as it falls #18 to #46 (and "Wonderwall" drops out from #21). One other song debuts: Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us" at #49. It spent 87 weeks in the ARIA top 100 over the course of 2022-2025, but seemingly hasn't been doing as well lately.
On the Australian version, "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Riptide" hold the top 2, but "Walking On A Dream" lands just shy of the latter, and "The Less I Know The Better" scores a new peak of #4. "Stumblin' In" climbs further to #12, and "Saving Up" reaches a new peak of #32. Empire Of The Sun's "Alive" re-enters at #39, and no, there wasn't another new remix of it released this week! Sia has had "Cheap Thrills" and "Unstoppable" (and "I Love It") frequently near the bottom of the top 50 (and "Snowman"... infrequently near the top), but not "Chandelier", until now: it debuts at #41. ("Cheap Thrills" also re-enters this week, so looking at the title column it would be easy to think the "Alive" was hers!)
Interesting to see all the “On Replay” songs did get included; I can’t tell if the data used is just for the months they were still counted for the main chart or for the whole year as some seem to be where I’d have expected and some feel lower.
The on replay material i think was always going to be included, to not do so would omit information. Be like having half a photo and not seeing the context. If ARIA decided to do an on replay EOY top 100 you'd see the remaining 4 months worth of sales showcased there but i'm only guessing.
