Thanks again Bulion, I loved "Stomp" by Brothers Johnson, always a party classic! Kenny Rogers' "Coward Of The County" is another great song, good beat and sad story. I haven't heard that one in a while though, one of my favourites!
Ah this took my back to my youth (yes I'm ancient). There's soooo many songs here that I'd totally forgotten about. Are you going to be posting any more of the list (and other years as well)?.

Yes, I too would love to see the rest of this information even Just the TOP 10 entries
If needed Bulion, you can send me the info and i'll help type them up for you
Guys I moved your messages down here, as I wanted to have a consistent flow of the charting songs for each year. I will be doing this for each year, so please don't put any messages on these threads until you see December of that year placed on the thread. I'm glad you both liked the info.
This thread has been tidied up to look the same as other threads recently created. No.1 singles in order added, and now that we can separate like Excel, that has been transplanted here. 1981, 82, 83 and 84 will be done soon.

"Tusk" by Fleetwood Mac charted in 1979 and 1980 and in both years it reached peak of No. 3? Or is it just an overall position? It seems that "Gimme Gimme Gimme" by Abba also charted in 2 years (Top 10), but no sign of it in 1980 Year Ending...
Abba peaked in January 1980 with Gimmex3, but it was probably not enough to secure a Top 100 EOY placing.
Tusk hit No.3 for two weeks in early December 1979, and spent two weeks in the Top 10 (7 and 9) in Jan 1980. It was #35 EOY in 1979 and #97 for 1980. Tusk spent 13 weeks on the charts in 1980 whereas Gimme stayed for only 10 weeks, falling fast and gone from the Top 100 by mid-March.
