Overshadowed by Starship's pop masterpiece "Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now" from the same film, Mannequin (1987), "Do You Dream About Me" remains a highlight especially in the movie's dance sequence where Kim Catttrall and Andrew McCarthy act out numerous Hollywood fantasies. This little pop bliss bomb by Alisha encapsulates the sound of 1987 when synthesisers, hyperactive guitars and drum machines filled dancefloors. Upbeat, energetic and irresistably passionate in its mixture of Kim Wilde style pleading vocals, Madonna sassiness, all the while fuelled by a Gloria Estefan "Dr Beat" era style rhythm. A catchy, feelgood jive which remains fun, vibrant and joyous for pop/dance fans.

Das stammt doch aus irgendeiner US-Komödie, oder? Jedenfalls ziemlich süßlicher und zugleich leicht dekadenter End-80er-Sound für alle, die Bananarama auch schon gemocht haben.
