***** The intro (of the radio edit) hooked me in immediately, reminding me of "I Got U" and a bit of "Sunchyme". That's definitely my highlight of the song, but not to discredit what follows, it's very nicely produced and reliably hits the right spot with that summer beach vibe. The 'I'll house you' thing in the chorus seemed a bit too cheesy initially (not that I've heard the source track) but it's become what elevates the chorus for me from being a bit of a comparative letdown, I also appreciate that there are enough interesting subtleties in play to save the 'oh oh oh'ing. I was a bit disappointed not to get as much out of "I Got U" as everyone else, but I think this can be my equivalent; better late than never! |
