**** I just have to thank them for giving this to the person I think is probably vocally the best of all the cast, and keeping annoying girl well away from it. The way they've structured the singing between the two is a little odd and difficult to get used to. I could buy the song as a solo song. I guess Kimbra's verse could come from the same person who sang Gotye's, but then it's weird that someone different comes in to take the lead on the last chorus. I don't know, maybe that's a storyline related decision, anyway it doesn't bother me too much. Especially when both of them are vocally sounding very good.

This is not even a millionth as good as the original, but I'm very pleasantly surprised at how decent this is.
*** It's not "Animal" or "Rolling in the Deep" bad, nor is it random guy on European reality TV bad. However Glee lately has had a painful resemblance to that of all those 'so bad it's hilarious' covers on iTunes. That's what I still thought of when I heard this. If it can help get the original to #1 on the Hot 100, I suppose I can appreciate its existance, but for the time being, it just passes.

Well I'm not convinced it was vital to achieving said goal, the sales 'record' that it did definitely contribute to is lovely. **** I echo much of what bluezombie had to say really. I think that it doesn't come close to the original, but despite sounding offkey at times, I think they do a pretty good job. Vocally I don't think it was spectacular, but merely tolerable.

**** Wow i'm actually impressed by this attempt by Glee, for once they haven't tinkered to much with a track and it's production is outstanding.
Oddly features two guys on vocal but i kinda dig it at the same time.

Charting at #67 in Australia, 2012. Last edited: 13/06/2012 10:46
