Look, I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but I guess it should have been something like this.
The problem with this EP is that it suffers from a lot of the same problems that this type of music always does. Particularly in the lyrical department, where if they sing about something they have experienced, it always comes off as predictable and calculated to win over the (very) young female audience, but if they try to sing about something more "mature", it comes off as the most embarrassing thing ever.
The latter is particularly present in the song "Bingo", which is trying to be a trap-influenced banger that steals the melody from Frère Jacques. It evens has Sartorius saying "I can't/ This is too lit" (or something like that) during the song. Everybody involved in the creation of that song (or just the EP in general) should be ashamed of themselves.
You know, as predictably awful as this is, I'm not angry at Sartorius here, he doesn't have any control over the "artistic direction", he's merely a puppet. I'm angry at his producers and writers for putting together such garbage.
But then again, what should I expect? When you have such a young person, I guess this is the only type of music which makes money, and the people in control took advantage of that.
At the very least though, I'm not disappointed with this, because my expectations weren't all that high in the first place.
