A lot of people are too cool to like Kid Rock - I think they are jealous that he's a bad mo fo who says what the fuck he thinks regardless of Hollyweird -

Sweet home Alabama is not that great a song musically - Come on; 3 chord and a riff - it's the Fuck Off Neil Young spirit that made the song what it is and that to me is what Kid Rock is about - It's a great riff and Kid Rock kicks Swiss "Rock Star" DJ Bobo's ass any day of any week for coolness !

The more people hate it the more I like it

One of the single worst songs in the entire civilisation of this planet.
**
he had to sample all those tracks, must mean he's on the way out, thank goodness!
***
Ok and a catchy track that was a massive worldwide hit. Only song of his that i know. The song sold 415,000 copies in the UK. UK#1 and Ireland#1.

arooooooooooooh werewolves of london :)
**
has some merits, but this song is pretty fowl
***
Eh its average, sorta like it, but only minimal.
***
Not bad, not great though.
****
Came in at #13 in my Top 100 of 2008.

Peaked at #4 on my personal.

Decent track, but he tries a bit too hard

I have a major fear of vomiting but I think I would rather vomit all over myself than hear this song.
*
horrible piece of shit, one of the worst song of 2008/last decade/ever
**
Horrible!

There have been way worse #1's, this is ok.
****
I like it. I think it is a clever use of samples. Makes the song instantly familiar without copying the original songs.
******
My favorite song during 2008 along with several others! Best track by the Kid Rock! Peaked at number 1 (10 weeks) on my personal hot 100, number 1 (8 weeks) on my personal mainstream rock songs, number 1 (4 weeks) on my personal alternative songs and number 1 (2 weeks) on my personal country songs!

Found it annoying when new, and this hasn't changed over time. Country rock not done the right way.
*
Very Annoying Track!
*
-_-
**
It's not bad at all but radio play has killed it big time. I did like it at one point but there has equally been just as much times as I hated it. Hasn't recovered from it's bumpy ride and now permanently in the dislike!
****
good, even that it was so overrated
***
Hated it back then, but I'm starting to enjoy this track now mainly because it is so catchy!
****
It's catchy, laidback and listenable. No wonder why it made it to the #1 spot in the ARIA charts.
*****
very good
***
It's tolerable but certainly nothing special and not worthy of such a strong chart run.

Seriously one of the worst songs of all time, the fact that it was so overplayed only made me want to shoot myself more at the time of it being a hit.
*
1 star
***
Is it a good track, no. But at least it was something different on
the charts and was actually refreshing to see it at #1 over the usual sounding stuff. Do not understand why it has so much hate.
**
Cheesy, ripped-off backing track; grating, droning vocals; and something about the lyrics just doesn't sit right with me.
***
Ich mag Kid Rock, aber der Song ist komplett overhyped.
*
Horrible
*
Embarrassing.
*
Yeah this is a bad song. One of my top 10 honorable mention for worst songs of all time.

Sweet Home Alabama was nooit eerder een hit in NL maar dat veranderde door het gebruik hiervan in dit relaxte pop nummer.
