****** AWESOME as always. Love the reference to Jack and Dianne in the chorus and the typical four chords is disguised very well.

EDIT: Would've been better if they released 'Could Be Me' as their next single instead of this but it makes sense anyways. Last edited: 13/03/2014 14:02
*** This screams of "let's throw out a single to keep our name on the airwaves/charts". It doesn't stick out much, and surely only hung around in the lower part of the top 50 thanks to being played on radio. However I do like the way they reject the idea of the "American dream" which is something that is becoming increasingly out of reach and unrelatable for many young people. It's a shame it's awfully produced, it really drags down the whole thing and makes it a tiring listen. It's not bad but didn't need to be a single imo. Last edited: 07/06/2017 07:56
*** The piano seems to take too much control over all of the melodies, which is a shame because it sucks the energy out of what should really be an upbeat track. I even try to enjoy the chorus by pretending the piano chords aren't there, but to no goddamn avail. :( 2.75

*** This sounds rather nostalgic to me. If this was intentional, then kudos for the irony. Aside from that I don't find it that strong but it could grow on me further. 3.5
