Wirklich abheben kann sich ihre Musik vom Rest nämlich meistens nur durch den unverkennbaren Gesang des Frontsängers Adam Levine, der immer wieder Akzente setzt, dessen Kopfgesang aber in manchen Fällen auch nerven kann.<br><br>Die Band bleibt ihrem Stil treu und macht weiterhin funkigen, etwas rockigen Pop, der schnell ins Ohr geht und Radioformat hat. Fans dürften mit "V" also zufrieden sein. Auch an weiteren potentiellen Hit-Singles fehlt es nicht; so sollte man etwa "In Your Pocket" und "Come Back For You" unbedingt noch auskoppeln. Erfreulich ist auch der Gastauftritt von Gwen Stefani beim Closer "My Heart Is Open". <br><br>Fazit: Ein sehr nettes, kurzweiliges Popalbum. Vielleicht hätten Maroon 5 das Album schon zu Sommerbeginn veröffentlichen sollen, denn es passt gut in diese Jahreszeit.<br><br>Highlights:<br><br>Animals<br>Coming Back For You<br>In Your Pocket<br>My Heart Is Open |

Ich war bisher nie ein grosser Fan der Band, muss aber gestehen dass sie hier und da doch mal ein guter Song rausbrachten. Trotzdem habe ich mir "V" relativ 'blind' gekauft, ich kannte nur "Maps" und "It Was Always You" und das auch nur seit etwa einer Woche. <br><br>Da ich eigentlich alle Singles der Band kenne, konnte ich mir schon Erwartungen an dieses Album aufbauen und es kam so heraus, wie ich erwartet habe: Neben einigen Songs die auf Hit getrimmt werden, beinhaltet "V" ausschliesslich total austauschbare Radio-Pop-Kost. Keine Kreativität, keine Eigenständigkeit. Aber eben, richtig schlecht ist kein Song und man kann alles durchhören, aber ein wirklich gutes Album ist das nicht. Ich reihe mich zu den anderen 4*-Bewertungen hier, da die Songs halt doch passabel sind, aber das Gesamtpaket kratzt schon ganz arg an der 3*-Grenze.<br><br>Highlight: "It Was Always You"

Dann sollte ich jetzt mal mit der fünf weitermachen. ;-)<br>Der Top-Titel für mich kommt erst auf der Deluxe Edition mit dem ersten Bonustrack "Shoot love". Auch die Solonummer von Adam Levine kann sich hören lassen. |

Hmm ich bin maßlos enttäuscht,<br>Ich hatte das Album wegen der Kollaboration mit GWEN STEFANI gekauft als relativ günstiges Download für 5 Euro<br><br>doch nicht mal diesen preis ist das Album wert.<br><br>Die Band hat zwar seit 2011, seitdem LEVINE in der Jury von THE VOICE sitzt, wieder große Hits gehabt und die Band ist wieder relevant. Doch leider musikalisch sehr abgebaut.<br><br>Sie sind voll auf die billig-Kommerz***** fixiert. <br><br>Animals enttäuscht zum Beispiel total wie fast alle Songs<br><br>einzig MAPS ist noch ok, jedoch in meinen Augen eine Kopie von AM I WRONG von NICO AND VINZ |

For some reason I own all their albums :-/ I have no idea, I haven't really enjoyed any of them. But this is their worst! The singles reek of desperation, yet they lack the catchiness that made Moves Like Jagger (and Payphone to a lesser extent) a hit. They're obviously quite confident with what they can do - what with all the random swearing and stuff, but this is mostly a miss. Even the closing ballad is a little bland and empty, and I thought I would love it. It's a shame that this is the type of stuff that Maroon 5 bring out now, but oh well. Painfully average album. 3.1/6 |

Maybe it's that I've now heard Don't Wanna Know and see how much worse things could have been, but this isn't as bad as I thought. It's not great by any means and is especially weak compared to Songs About Jane, but I've certainly heard and bought worse albums. |

V is an album that sends mixed signals. It tries to be more edgier than Overexposed but it does so using the weirdest methods that don't just work at all. There's definitely songs that push the limit a little but the end results just feels immature and annoying.
