Looking at te year end worst lists and I am so glad that people realized how bad Marshmello is. I hated him from the very first song that I heard and that was the ill-advised Wolves. Bizarrely the only song of his that I like is Friends, because it has a strong enough melody and was well executed as an edm song, at least there is some energy in that one. Now about this: I don't actually see this as a genre fusion of any sort. It doesn't even have a drop. That "thing" is not a drop and you can't convince me otherwise. If this Kane Brown person is what makes this country, well, take him out of the equation and you have yourself a pretty standard, bland Ed Sheeran-esque pop song and I'd rather it was treated as such. Isn't the point of edm to make you wanna move, dance? What the hell is going on with this genre in the last couple of years...
