They really are back but this would be their worst album for me. Their ability to evolve is truly great. 'Madness', 'Panic Station', 'Survival' and 'Supremacy' are the highlights.

A few listens to it and already seems like a sad parody of themselves, trying to cram as many obvious nods to Queen in one song as humanly possible, on nearly every song. The change that needs to happen in Muse is not necessarily the sound but the way of writing songs, all the (admittedly welcome) electronics can't hide that fact.

Better than The Resistance, in my opinion. Very good. Not as electronic or personal as I thought it would be. Their sound hasn't changed as much as I thought which I'm a bit relieved about.

I prbably enjoyed it mor than The Resistancebut it's not my favourite from them by a long stretch. Still it's exceedingly cool and quite interesting although the second half certainly isn't as strong as the first.

I actually enjoyed this album and am quite surprised that I did so, because it is pretty uneven. I've always liked Muse ballads, so I liked Save Me and Explorers and the singles were standouts for me as well. Tracks like Survival and Unsustainable were a little more out there and not really my cup of tea though. All up it's a decent effort, I'm sad that it didn't do so well on the charts.
