das Album ist nicht einmal erschienen und es ist schon in meinen Top 40 Alben :P der grund ist wegen den 1:30 minuten trailers der lieder die erst mal erschienen sind :) gutes Alben bisher, highlights sind auf jedenfall: Feel Again, If I Lose Myself, What You Wanted, und Burning Bridges :D

Ich finde das Album sehr sehr gelungen! Die ersten 5 Songs sind fantastisch!! dann geht das Album ein wenig hinunter, bei "Burning Bridges" und "Preacher" geht es wieder hinauf! <br>Im gross und ganzen ein sehr gelungenes Album, wird hoffentlich bei den Albumcharts ein Hit! <br><br>1. Counting Stars: stark! 6*<br>2. If I Lose Myself: genial! 6*<br>3. Feel Again: macht spass... 5*+<br>4. What You Wanted: tönt irgendwie nicht nach OneRepublic... 4*+<br>5. Zwar hatte die Band um Ryan Tedder bereits einige Hits, doch der grosse Album-Erfolg scheint noch zu fehlen. Ob sie den mit "Native" schaffen werden weiss ich zwar noch nicht, aber meiner Meinung nach wäre es verdient, denn dieses Album ist bisher ihr Bestes.<br><br>Bereits die zweite Single "If I Lose Myself" konnte mich total in ihren Bann ziehen und sie ist nach "All The Right Moves" womöglich die beste Single von OneRepublic. Deswegen und aufgrund des super schönen CD-Covers von "Native" waren meine Erwartung bereits etwas höher als bei den Vorgängern. Diese wurden zwar nicht alle erfüllt, da es in der Mitte des Albums etwas unspektakulär wird, doch alles in allem kann sich das Album wirklich sehen lassen.<br><br>Anscheinend konnte sich die gesamte Band weiterentwickeln und gehen auch mit der Zeit. Folk-Pop scheint angesagt zu sein und deshalb entwickelt sich der Sound von OneRepublic nun auch eher in die Richtung, was richtig gut rüber kommt und zu Ryan's toller Stimme passt. <br><br>Highlight: Abgesehen von den Singles ist "Counting Stars" das Highlight von "Native" |

Counting Stars: *** **<br>If I Lose Myself: *** *<br>Feel Again: *** *<br>What You Wanted: *** *<br>I Lived: *** *<br>Light It Up: ***<br>Can't Stop: *** *<br>Au revoir: *** **<br>Burning Bridges: *** *<br>Something I Need: *** **<br>Preacher: *** *** <br>Don't Look Down: *** *<br><br>Durchschnitt: 4,33<br><br>OneRepublic bleiben ihrer Linie auf ihrem dritten Album treu und machen einmal mehr Popmusik, die sich im Grenzbereich zwischen wunderbar atmosphärisch, mitreißend und auf der anderen Seite beliebig und höchstens solide bewegt.<br><br>Die besten Songs des Albums befinden sich tendenziell am Anfang und am Ende des Albums - dazwischen gibt es leider Einiges, das zwar alles andere als schlecht, aber auch nicht wirklich stark ist und das mein Skip-Verlangen teilweise auf eine harte Probe stellt.<br><br>Am besten gefallen mir persönlich der wunderbare Opener, der letztlich mehr verspricht, als das Album halten kann, dazu die stimmungsvolle Ballade "Au Revoir", die Uptempo-Nummer "Something I Need" und insbesondere das ganz starke "Preacher".<br><br>Fazit: Ein solides, mitunter recht gelungenes Popalbum, das aber als Ganzes gesehen nicht zu den stärksten jüngsten Veröffentlichungen im Popbereich gehört, welches andererseits die eingefleischten Fans der Band sicher zufriedenstellen dürfte. |

Geil! Onerepublic hebt sich immer wieder von der Massenpopindustrie ab und versucht kontinuierlich eigene Wege zu gehen und zu experimentieren....<br><br>Ryan Tedder ist im Übrigen ein genialer Songwriter/Produzent und hat eine sehr angenehme und emotionale Stimme welche die Hörer fesselt....<br><br>Ich hoffe, dass sie sich mit diesem genialen Album endlich mal in den oberen Rängen der weltweiten Charts positionieren...<br>sie haben es sich wirklich verdient |

OneRepublic have provided a pretty good album in 'Native' - but the biggest problem they faced was ruining songs that had the potential to be amazing by adding too many effects onto the vocals, overlayering and autotune are both things that this album did not need - and ultimately ended up dragging the entire rating of the album down. Some songs were boring and sounded like simple rehashes of other songs, whilst there were also some very high moments in the album in the form of Counting Stars, If I Lose Myself, Au Revoir and Life In Colour.<br><br>3.5* |

Dieses Album hat in Anbetracht der doch eher mittelprächtigen Singles "If I Lose Myself" und "Feel Again" überraschend viele gute Songs zu bieten, wobei das Highlight des Albums für mich ohne jeden Zweifel der Song "Preacher" darstellt. Einige Nummern sind eher belanglose Skip-Ware, viele eignen sich super zur netten Hintergrundberieselung und mindestens 4-5 stellen meines Erachtens wirklich eine Bereicherung für die Musikwelt dar.<br><br>Gute Scheibe, ich bin mal etwas großzügig und gebe die knappe 5. |

Ein rundum gelungenes, "natürlich wirkendes" Album, das qualitativ direkt an den Vorgänger "Waking Up" anknüpft. <br><br>Auffallend ist jedoch, dass OR weiter gereift sind und auch so klingen. Schon der Einstiegssong "Counting Stars" überzeugt total u. zeigt sofort die Richtung. OR blieben sich treu und sind für schöne Melodien, feines Arrangement und teils Gänsehautsongs ("Preacher" vorallem) weiterhin zu haben.

Ihr bestes Album, hätte ich nach dem zweiten Durchgang gesagt. Inzwischen finde ich's fast schon zu poppig. Wo ist das Cello geblieben? Kann's nur noch bei Au revoir und What You Wanted ausmachen und das ist eindeutig zu wenig.<br>Alle Songs sind gelungen, aber wie schon bei Bastille fällt es mir schwer, mich zum Hören zu motivieren. If I Lose Myself liebte ich, schade, dass ich den Song jetzt nur noch sehr gut finde.<br><br>Sonst: Counting Stars, der nächste grosse Hit, I Lived, Au revoir, Burning Bridges, Preacher, Life in Color<br><br>Skippen muss ich nur bei Light It Up, das ist mir zu anstrengend.<br>Unter'm Strich ist Native ein sehr zugängliches, poppiges, radiohörerfreundliches Album, das aber vermissen lässt, was die Musik von OneRepublic auf den letzten beiden Alben ausmachte: das Cello und den Alternative Sound. |

Being all honest and everything I feel Onerepublic can be rather predictable and boring but they have tried to branch out with this offering but it still feels as they're stuck in limbo and haven't really taken that next step in their short career.<br>You would think with Ryan Tedder's potential they'd be slaying the world over every time they hit the radio.<br>The album itself starts off solidly with the two lead singles then starts to hit rock bottom towards the end.<br>Just when you think you can't hear anymore they hit gold with 'Can't Stop' & 'Au revoir' (probly their best offerings since 'Stop & Stare' imo) and follow with the current single.<br><br>43/72 |

Considering that I had listened to a fair amount of this album, I thought I'd give the whole album a listen through.<br><br>It never really seems to get out of typical OneRepublic territory, and that doesn't bother me for the most part. However, OneRepublic is only an band that I can only just like with the type of music they produce, and not a band that I can "love".<br><br>The songs are mostly of a good quality throughout the album, but the lyrics can annoy at times. I've heard people say that they've got great lyrics, but the lyrics themselves can be grating on me sometimes. For example, in "Counting Stars", Ryan Tedder sings "I feel something so right/By doing the wrong thing/And I feel something so wrong/By doing the right thing". It just feels a bit too simple at times, and having heard this song on the radio a lot earlier this year, it just got to me.<br><br>Upon listening to the entirety of this album, it seems that they're condemned to never create a song of the sheer brilliance "Apologize" again. Maybe they need Timbaland's to mix each song to be able to do so.<br><br>Also, I remember hearing a radio presenter saying that OneRepublic were "one of the best bands of all time" and that this album is one I "must" listen to. I know not to take that guy seriously.<br><br>My highlights were "Something I Need" and "Au revoir".<br><br>3.75*. |

In hindsight this is their best album to date just edging out Waking Up thanks to it being more consistent. I like 11/15 of the tracks here with Counting Stars, Burning Bridges and Preacher being the standouts.

I've never been a huge fan of OneRepublic but I've been impressed with the singles from this album and I wasn't totally dreading the thought of listening to this album - now that I've listened to it, I actually quite enjoyed it. The singles are good, but there are some nice atmospheric sounds with songs like 'Au Revoir' and 'Preacher'. Ryan Tedder is lyrically and vocally on and off, and both have the ability to bring down the quality of the songs (see Something I Need and Light It Up) but I actually really enjoyed it and am glad that they tried something new here.<br><br>4.2 |

Native is an album that has impressive singles with really solid production and themes sprinkled throughout the track list. Even though there are one or two duds in here, Ryan Tedder and his band have made something that will be considered a must listen in the foreseeable future. |
