I love the fact that despite only having heard this album in full a few times, I know it like the back of my hand; never change triple j <3. Even without the advantage of familiarity, it's a very well produced album. Sam has such a captivating vocal style that I assume is what got them noticed in the first place. Considering the state of Australian music at the moment, their bluesy style also sets them apart, even if admittedly I found many of their songs derivative. Still, they can write plenty of great hooks, and there's no filler to be found here. 4.5

They are brilliant. Their sound is refreshing in the Australian music industry, and despite while I think they should not have re-recorded certain tracks, this is a damn fine effort. That and I still just adore 'Lay It Down'.

This is basically what I expected. Accessible rock sort of music. It's easy to enjoy these songs. All the songs are good. This is new territory for me in terms of album listening :P I hope I will be listening to a lot of albums now.

A very strong debut. It's an easily accessible and enjoyable album and while for the most part they stick to what you'd expect from them, there are a few change-ups in here to keep things sounding fresh and moving along. And then there's the excellent My Gun. 4.5
