I've tried and I just can't deal with this album. It's this weird conflicting thing where I both totally get their appeal, while I totally don't. Because the course of this album seems to be to do whatever and stuff the consequences. Unfortunately the consequence is that it makes for some rather unlistenable material. I just find the lyrics aggravating at times. In a year where Hopsin set the bar for bad lyrics, they make several contenders across this album. Perhaps most bothersome is the occasionally cropping up trend of superiority to the music that's on the radio. It just doesn't work when they have so many songs that seemed polished for the same purpose. If that's their intention then it doesn't really work out as they're not exactly better than what is on the radio. Like most FBR bands, they're just as obnoxious as their fanbase. I'm not taking this cringe trip again.

Great album. I like it how they combined in different genres including pop, hip hop, reggae, rock (in nicest ways). The rap is also amazing even the screaming vocals are added elsewhere. The 14 songs are good even though the lyrics are quirky and too long sometimes but the effort is just brilliant, there are happy tunes, swagger tunes, and messy tunes. And also the theme such as darker tones also well in progress even though they use programming alot

My highlights on Blurryface are:
Not Today, Hometown, Polarize, Lane Boy, We Don't Believe What's On TV and The Judge

Score: 9.5/10

#9 on my top 100 favourite albums of all time

I quite enjoyed this one, and the songs are not as polarizing as I thought they were going to be. Ride is by far my favourite track from them, and to be fair, is probably the only reason that I gave this a go. I don't think much of Stressed Out and the rest of the singles did little for me, but listening to this now, I do like them for the most part. They are quite experimental in their sounds, which is probably why they were so popular for that period. It will be interesting to see if they can follow up the success of this. Solid effort.
